Միացյալ Նահանգների նախագահի ներքին անվտանգության հարցերով խորհրդական Էլիզաբեթ Շերվուդ Ռենդալը եւ Կենտրոնական Ասիայի երկրների արտգործնախարարությունների ղեկավարները հուլիսի 15-ին Տաշքենդում քննարկել են Աֆղանստնում խաղաղության հաստատման ուղիները: Այդ մասին հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:

«Միացյալ Նահանգները մեծ նշանակություն է տալիս տարածաշրջանի երկրների հետ համագործակցությանն Աֆղանստանում խաղաղության հաստաման գործում»,- ասել է Շերվուդ Ռենդալը՝ ելույթ ունենալով հանդիպման մասնակիցների առջեւ: Նրա խոսքով՝ տարածաշրջանում անվտանգությունը, պայքարն ահաբեկչության եւ թմրանյութերի տարածման դեմ հանդիպման բոլոր մասնակից երկրների ընդհանուր շահերն են:

Բանակցություններին, որոնք տեղի ունեցան «Կենտրոնական եւ Հարավային Ասիա. տարածաշրջանային փոխկապակցվածություն: Սպառնալիքներ եւ հնարավոություններ» բաձր մակարդակի միջազգային խորհրդաժողովի հարթակներում, մասնակցել է Աֆղանստանի խնդրով ԱՄՆ-ի հատուկ ներկայացուցիչ Զալմայ Խալիլզադը:
