Ծանրամարտի աշխարհի չեմպիոն, օլիմպիական խաղերի փոխչեմպիոն Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանին մեղադրանք է առաջադրվել քրեական օրենսգրքի 242 հոդվածի երկրորդ մասով (ճանապարհային երթևեկության և տրանսպորտային միջոցների շահագործման կանոնները խախտելը, որն անզգուշությամբ առաջացրել է մարդու մահ): Այս մասին հայտնեցին ՀՀ գլխավոր դատախազությունից:

Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանի նկատմամբ որպես խափանման միջոց է ընտրվել ստորագրությունը չհեռանալու մասին:

Եվրոպայի առաջնությունից վերադառնալուց հետո ծանրամարտիկ Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը «Երևան մոլ» առևտրի կենտրոնի դիմաց մահացու վրաերթի է ենթարկել փողոցը ոչ թույլատրելի հատվածով անցնող հետիոտնին։ Սիմոն Մարտիրոսյանը փախուստի չի դիմել, զանգահարել ոստիկանություն, շտապօգնություն, ապա օգնել, որ վրաերթի ենթարկվածին տեղափոխեն հիվանդանոց:
