Զինված անհայտ անձինք երեք իրանցի սահմանապահ են սպանել երկրի հյուսիսարևմտյան սահմանի մոտ, հայտնում է Associated Press գործակալությունը՝ Իրանի պետական լրատվամիջոցներին հղումով:

Պաշտոնական IRNA  գործակալության փոխանցմամբ՝ երեք սահմանապահները սպանվել են բախման ժամանակ, երբ ահաբեկիչները (գործակալության բնորոշումը) փորձել են ներթափանցել Իրանի Արևմտյան Ադրբեջան նահանգ, որը գտնվում է մայրաքաղաք Թեհրանից 650 կմ հեռավորության վրա:

Միջադեպի հետևանքով տուժել է ևս երկու սահմանապահ:

Արևմտյան Ադրբեջանը սահմանակից է Իրաքի և Թուրքիայի հետ, սակայն նյութում չի նշվում՝ որ երկրից են հանցագործները փորձել հատել Իրանի սահմանը:
