Կանադայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Ֆրանսուա Ֆիլիպ- Շամպանն իր թուրք գործընկերոջը հայտնել է, որ Թուրքիան պետք է հեռու մնա Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի հակամարտությունից: Ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, վկայակոչելով  ամերիկյան CBC  հեռուստառադիոցանցը, լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցում  Շամպանն ասել է, որ զրույց է ունեցել Թուրքիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարար Մևլութ Չավուշօղլուի հետ:

«Ուղերձը շատ պարզ էր, որ արտաքին կողմերը պետք է մի կողմ մնան, քանի որ դա արդեն շատ բարդ իրավիճակ է: Մենք ցավում ենք մարդկանց մահվան համար, և մենք պետք է համոզվենք, որ ոչ ոք հակամարտությունը չի սրում: Ընդհակառակը, միջազգային հանրությունը պետք է միասնական լինի բանակցությունների վերադառնալու, հրադադարի ռեժիմը պահպանելու և քաղաքացիական բնակչությանը պաշտպանելու հարցում», - ասել է Կանադայի ԱԳ նախարարը:
