Ալեքսեյ Նավալնու «թունավորման» մեջ ռուս պաշտոնական անձանց ներգրավվածության մասին ԱՄՆ հայտարարություններն անհիմն են: Այս մասին, «ՌԻԱ Նովոստի»-ի հաղորդմամբ, ասել է ՌԴ ԱԳՆ ղեկավար Սերգեյ Լավրովը:

Ավելի վաղ Պոմպեոն ամերիկացի լրագրող Բեն Շապիրոյին տված հարցազրույցում ասել է, որ «երբ մարդիկ տեսնում են, որ փորձեր են արվում թունավորել այլախոհներին, նրանք գիտկացում են, որ կա հավանականություն, որ դա արվել է ՌԴ պաշտոնական անձանց կողմից»:

«Մենք սովոր ենք անհիմն հայտարարություններին»,-ասել է Լավրովը:

Նա նշել է, որ Գերմանիան չի պատասխանում Նավալնու շուրջ ստեղծված իրավիճակի հարցով ՌԴ հարցումներին, սակայն պահանջում է հետաքննություն անցկացնել, եւ դա հիշեցնում է Սոլսբերիի եւ Boeing MH17-ի հետ կապված միջադեպերը:
