ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինին դիմել է Սիրիայի իշխանությունների վրա հրադադարի պահպանման հարցում ճնշում գործադրելու խնդրանքով:

Ինչպես հաղորդում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը, այս մասին ԱՄՆ նախագահը հայտարարել է Պարսից Ծոցի արաբական պետությունների համագործակցության խորհրդի և ԱՄՆ-ի համաժողովի ավարտին:
«Ես նախագահ Պուտինի կոչ եմ արել ճնշում գործադրել Սիրիայի նախագահի վրա»,- ասել է Օբաման:
Ապրիլի 18-ին ՌԴ և ԱՄՆ նախագահները հեռախոսային զրույց են ունեցել, որի ընթացքում քննարկել են Սիրիայում տիրող իրավիճակը: Նախագահները հաստատել են Սիրիայում ԱՄՆ-ի և ՌԴ-ի նախաձեռնած հրադադարն ամրապնդելու պատրաստակամությունը, ինչպես նաև երկրի համապատասխան շրջաններ մարդասիրական օգնության ապահովման անհրաժեշտությունը: Հեռախոսազրույցը տեղի է ունեցել ամերիկյան կողմի նախաձեռնությամբ:
