Աշոտն իր մյուս զինակից ընկերների հետ միասին եկել է համապատասխան զորամասում վերապատրաստումների և դասընթացների, ժամանակավոր է և վերադառնալու է: 

Այս մասին այսօր՝ մայիսի 27-ին, մամուլի ասուլիսի ժամանակ ասաց ՀՀ վարչապետի տիկին Աննա Հակոբյանն՝ անդրադառնալով այն լուրերին, թե ինչո՞ւ է իրենց զինվոր որդին՝ Աշոտն, այս օրերին գտնվում Երևանում: 

«Աշոտի Երևան գալը ոչ մի այլ բանի հետ կապ չունի: Նա շարունակելու է ծառայել  Լեռնային Ղարաբաղում: Սա միակ դեպքը չի: Աշոտը դեռ մեկ տարի էլ ծառայելու է և ենթադրում եմ, որ այդ մեկ տարվա ընթացքում կլինեն նման դեպքեր: Իմ որդին ծառայում է այնպես, ինչպես ցանկացած զինվոր: Նրա ծառայությնունը ոչ մի կերպ չի տարբերվում որևէ հարցում»: 

Հարցին, թե այս օրերին Աշոտը եղե՞լ է իրենց տանը, Աննա Հակոբյանը պատասխանեց, որ նա սահմանված կարգով ունեցել է արձակուրդ և մեկ օր եղել է տանը:
