Մեքսիկական «Դորադոս դե Սինալոա» ակումբի տեխնիկական տնօրեն Դիեգո Մարադոնայի փաստաբան Մաթիաս Մորլան նշել է, որ արգենտինացի լեգենդար ֆուտբոլիստը կապ է հաստատելու «Բարսելոնայի» հարձակվող Լիոնել Մեսիի հետ, որպեսզի պարզաբանի իր հայտարարությունը: Ավելի վաղ Արգենտինայի հավաքականի նախկին գլխավոր մարզիչը հայտարարել էր, որ Մեսին չի կարող լինել առաջատար, քանի որ խաղից առաջ 20 անգամ գնում է զուգարան:

«Մարադոնան անպայման կզանգի Մեսիին ու կբացատրի, թե ինչ նկատի ուներ: Նա միշտ աջակցել է Արգենտինայի հավաքականին եւ այդ խոսքերն ասելիս նկատի ուներ, որ պետք չէ հունից հանել Մեսիին: Դիեգոն ունի խոսքի սպեցիֆիկ կուլտուրա, այդ պատճառով բոլորը սխալ են հասկացել նրան»,- փաստաբանի խոսքը մեջբերում է Marca-ն:

Ավելի վաղ հայտնի էր դարձել, որ Մեսին ժամանակավորապես դադարեցրել է ելույթներն Արգենտինայի հավաքականում եւ ազգային թիմից հրավեր չի ստանա մինչեւ այս տարվա ավարտը:
