2016 թվականի ապրիլի 1-ին հնդկական ողջ մամուլը կաթվածահար էր եղել դերասանուհու ինքնասպանության մասին լուրերով: Քչերն էին մտածում, որ դրան հետո պիտի հաջորդեին ինքնասպանության պատճառների ու վարկածների տեղատարափը, փոխադարձ մեղադրանքներն ու ձգձգվող դատական քաշքշուքները: Բանն այն է, որ դերասանուհու ծնողներն աղջկա ընկերոջն են մեղադրում նրան ինքնասպանության հասցնելու մեջ, ընկերը՝ ծնողներին:

Պրատյուշա Բաներջին ակտիվ կյանք էր վարում Ինստագրամում: Մահվանից առաջ նա հրապարակել է  լուսանկարներ, որտեղ պարզ երևում է, որ նա Ռահուլին շատ է սիրել, սակայն նրա զգացմունքները փոխադարձ չեն եղել:
