ԱՄՆ-ի նախագահ Բարաք Օբաման հրաժարվել է Թուրքիայի իր պաշտոնակից Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանի հետ անձնապես հանդիպելուց:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է Արմենպրեսը, այս մասին հայտնում է The Wall Street Journal-ը` հղում կատարելով Սպիտակ տան աշխատակազմին, որը հայտնել է, որ «Էրդողանի հետ երկկողմանի բանակցությունների անհրաժեշտություն չկա»:
Ավելի վաղ Էրդողանը Օբամային հրավիրել էր միանալ իրեն` Մերիլենդում թուրքական մզկիթի բացման արարողության ժամանակ:
«Միջուկային գագաթաժողովի շրջանակում Վաշինգտոն այցին Էրդողանի հետ հանդիպելուց Օբամայի հրաժարվելու մասին որոշումը պետք չէ ընկալել որպես արհամարհանք, քանի որ նախագահներն առաջ հանդիպել էին նոյեմբերին Թուրքիայում G20 գագաթաժողովի ժամանակ եւ հեռախոսազրույց ունեցել փետրվարին», -հայտնել են Սպիտակ տանը:
