Շագուանայից  38 - ամյա Չարմանիի մարմնի վրա հայտնվում են սարսափելի քաղցկեղածին գնդիկներ երկրորդ որդու՝ Օսիրիսի ծնվելուց անմիջապես հետո: Որդու ծննդից հետո քաղցկեղածին գնդիկների թիվը արագորեն աճում է: Երկու վիրահատություններն էլ ի զորու են լինում դադարեցնել դրանց աճը: Չարմանին անգամ վախենում է իրեն նայել հայելու մեջ: Բժիշկներն այսպիսի դեպք դեռ չէին ունեցել իրենց աշխատանքային գործունեության մեջ. եղել են քաղցկեղածին հիվանդություններ, բայց այս դեպքը ուղակի անկարագրելի է:
