Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Անգելա Մերկելը հայտնել է, որ մտադիր է Թուրքիայի վրա ճնշում գործադրել իր համաքաղաքացիներին ազատելու համար։

Passauer Neue Presse–ին տված հարցազրույցում Մերկելը հայտարարել է, որ այդ նպատակով Գերմանիան մտադիր է ավելի սահմանափակել Թուրքիայի հետ տնտեսական համագործակցությունը։ «Մենք ստիպված ենք վերանայել Թուրքիայի հետ  տնտեսական համագործակցությունը եւ որոշ փաթեթներ»,– ասել է նա։

Մերկելը վրդովմունք է հայտնել այն կապակցությամբ, որ Թուրքիան իր բանտերում մինչեւ հիմա Գերմանիայի քաղաքացիների է պահում։

Գերմանիայի իշխանությունների գնահատմամբ՝ թուրքական բանտերում Գերմանիայի՝ ավելի քան 50 քաղաքացի կա։ Շատ դեպքերում խոսքը քաղաքական կալանքների մասին է։
