Սեպտեմբերի 11-ին Ռուսաստանում նշվում է սթափության օրը. Ռուս ուղղափառ եկեղեցու բոլոր եկեղեցիներում հատուկ աղոթքներ կհնչեցվեն ալկոհոլիզմով տառապողների համար: Այս մասին հայտնում է «Ինտերֆաքս»-ը:

Հայտնի է, որ 2014 թվականի հուլիսին տեղի ունեցած նիստի ժամանակ Սուրբ Սինոդը վերականգնել է ամեն տարի սթափության օրը սեպտեմբերի 11-ին նշելը և եպիսկոպոսներին ու հոգևորականներին կոչ արել այդ օրն աղոթքներ հնչեցնել «գինեխմության կամ թմրամոլության արատով տառապողների համար»:

Ռուսաստանում սթափության օրը նշվում է սեպտեմբերի 11-ին, որը Սբ Հովհաննես Մկրտչի գլխատման օրն է. նա առողջ ապրելակերպ է վարել, սակայն գինարբուքի ժամանակ մահացել է սրի հարվածից: Առաջին անգամ տոնը նշվել է 1913 թվականին, իսկ 1914 թվականին որոշվել է նշել այն ամեն տարի:
