ԱՄՆ-ի Ֆլորիդա նահանգի Մայամի քաղաքի օդանավակայանում չեղարկվել է մոտ 600 չվերթ, ինչի պատճառը մոտեցող «Իրմա» փոթորիկն է: Սա կազմում է պլանավորված չվերթների մոտ կեսը:

FlightAware մասնագիտացված կայքի տվյալների համաձայն՝ չեղարկվել է Մայամիից մեկնող 247 չվերթ (40%) և օդանավակայան ժամանող 317 չվերթ (57%): Դրանից բացի` հետաձգվել է 27 չվերթ:

Հայտնի է, որ «Իրմա» փոթորիկը շարժվում է Կարիբյան լողավազանի կղզիների երկայնքով և հանգստյան օրերին կարող է հասնել Ֆլորիդայի ափ: Ֆլորիդայի և հարակից նահանգների տարածքում հայտարարվել է արտակարգ ռեժիմ, մի շարք շրջաններում նաև տարհանում է հայտարարվել:
