ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը հայտարարել է, որ մոտ ժամանակում որոշում կընդունի Իրանի նկատմամբ հետագա գործողությունների վերաբերյալ՝ կրկին չբացառելով ամերիկյան ռազմական գործողության վերսկսման հնարավորությունը, հայտնում է Reuters-ը։

«Ես որոշում կունենամ Իրանի վերաբերյալ։ Իրանը ոչնչացվելու է։ Այնպես որ հարցը միայն այն է, թե դա հեշտ ճանապարհ կլինի, թե դժվար», — ասել է Թրամփը լրագրողներին՝ Սպիտակ տնից հեռանալիս։ Միաժամանակ նա հայտարարել է, որ Իրանը «գործնականում հրաժարվում է» միջուկային զենք ստեղծելու ծրագրերից։

Հայտարարությունը հնչել է հաջորդ օրը այն բանից հետո, երբ Axios-ը հայտնել էր Քեմփ-Դեյվիդում Թրամփի ազգային անվտանգության հարցերով առաջատար խորհրդականների գաղտնի հանդիպման մասին։ Պարբերականի տվյալներով, այնտեղ քննարկվել են Իրանի նկատմամբ ԱՄՆ-ի հետագա քայլերի տարբերակները, ինչպես նաև Սաուդյան Արաբիայի և Եմենում հութիների միջև հակամարտության շուրջ իրավիճակը։

Միևնույն ժամանակ Իրանը պատրաստում է ավելի լայնածավալ և կոշտ պատասխանի այն դեպքում, եթե վերսկսվեն ամերիկյան խոշոր հարվածները, Reuters-ին հայտնել են մի քանի աղբյուրներ։ Ըստ նրանց, Թեհրանը միաժամանակ շարունակում է դիվանագիտական ջանքերը, թեև իրանական ղեկավարության ներսում դրանց հաջողության հնարավորությունները բարձր չեն գնահատում։

Reuters-ի տվյալներով, իրանցի ռազմական հրամանատարները դիտարկում են հավանական թիրախների ցանկի ընդլայնման հնարավորությունը։ ԱՄՆ-ի հետ կապված օբյեկտներից բացի, խոսքը կարող է վերաբերվել այն երկրներին, որոնք աջակցում են ամերիկյան ռազմական գործողություններին, ինչպես նաև Մերձավոր Արևելքից դուրս գտնվող թիրախներին։
