Իրանագետ Վարդան Ոսկանյանը գրել է․

«Ցանկացած ազգի պարագայում հասարակությունը հիմնականում տալիս է սոցիալ-մշակութային հում նյութ, որից էլ վերնախավերը համազգային համակարգված ինքնություն, աշխարհայացք և վարքականոն են կերտում՝ վերցնելով բացառապես դրականը և դուրս թողնելով մերժելին։

Այնուհետև այդ մշակված աշխարհայացքը լայն իմաստով քարոզչության միջոցով վերադառնում է նույն այդ հասարակություն և սկսում վերափոխել այն։

Իմ համեստ կարծիքով՝ ներկայիս մեր տխուր իրականության պատճառներից մեկն այն է, որ վերնախավերը ոչ թե հանդես են գալիս նշված հում նյութի մշակողների դերում, այլ ձգտում են հենց այդ հում նյութը դիտարկել ոչ միայն պատրաստի, այլ նաև օրինակելի արդյունք և իրենց հարմարեցնել դրան։

Սա ոչ միայն վերնախավերի փաստացի ստեղծագործ ամլության և թուլամորթության նշան է, այլ նաև պարզունակ ամբոխահաճության ակունք, թե բա՝ «ժողովուրդն այսպես է ուզում»»։
