84 տարեկան հաասակումմահացել էՀՀ ժողովրդական արտիստ, Մովսես Խորենացու մեդալակիր, «Հայրենիքին մատուցած ծառայությունների համար» 1-ին աստիճանի շքանշանակիր Ռաիսա Մկրտչյանը։

1963-1968 թվականներին սովորել է Երևանի Կոմիտասի անվան պետական կոնսերվատորիայի դաշնամուրային բաժնում։ 1968 թվականից Հայաստանի հեռուստառադիոպետկոմի էստրադային նվագախմբի մենակատար։ 2002 թվականից դասավանդել է Երևանի Կոմիտասի անվան պետական կոնսերվատորիայում։

Ձայնագրվել է ավելի քան 400 երգ, որոնց զգալի մասը պահպանվում են Ռադիոյի և հեռուստատեսության ձայնադարանի ոսկե ֆոնդում։ Բազմաթիվ համերգներով հանդես է եկել աշխարհի տարբեր քաղաքներում։ Ելույթներ է ունեցել Նյու Յորքի «Մետրոպոլիտեն օպերա», «Քարնեգի Հոլ», Սիդնեյի, Մոնրեալի, Բեյրութի, Բուենոս Այրեսի հայտնի դահլիճներում։
