Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությունը հայտարարել է, որ Էբոլայի հաստատված դեպքերի թիվը հասել է 598-ի, որոնցից 115-ը՝ մահվան ելքով։ 22 մարդ ապաքինվել է։ «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբ՝ այս մասին հաղորդում է Reuters գործակալությունը։Վիրուսը հատկապես տարածված է Իտուրիի, Հյուսիսային Կիվուի և Հարավային Կիվուի նահանգներում։Էբոլայի բռնկման մասին հայտարարվել է մայիսի 15-ին՝ չնայած իշխանությունները հայտնել են, որ վիրուսը տարածվել էր դեռ շաբաթներ առաջ, սակայն չէր հայտնաբերվել։

Ուգանդայում ևս կա գրեթե 20 վարակված։Իրազեկ աղբյուրները Reuters-ին հայտնել են, որ Էբոլայի տարածման ֆոնին ԱՄՆ-ն Եվրոպային կոչ է արել ճանապարհորդությունների սահմանափակումներ մտցնել Կենտրոնական Աֆրիկայի երկրներից ժամանողների նկատմամբ՝ խուսափելու վիրուսի տարածումից ֆուտբոլի աշխարհի առաջնության ընթացքում։
