Իրանի նախագահ Մասուդ Փեզեշքիանը շնորհակալություն է հայտնել Հռոմի պապին։

«Ես բարձր եմ գնահատում Ձեր բարոյական և տրամաբանական դիրքորոշումը Իրանի դեմ վերջերս տեղի ունեցած ռազմական ագրեսիայի վերաբերյալ։ Միացյալ Նահանգների և Իսրայելի կողմից հարվածները ուղղված են ոչ միայն Իրանի, այլև օրենքի գերակայության և համընդհանուր մարդկային արժեքների դեմ։ Իրանը, ինքնապաշտպանության իր օրինական իրավունքի շրջանակներում, հարվածել է ագրեսորների թիրախներին և շահերին։ Միևնույն ժամանակ, Իրանի Իսլամական Հանրապետությունը շարունակում է հավատարիմ մնալ դիվանագիտությանը և հակամարտությունների խաղաղ կարգավորմանը, և միջազգային հանրությունից ակնկալվում է պատասխանատվություն ցուցաբերել Միացյալ Նահանգների անօրինական գործողությունների առջև»։

Իրանի նախագահը, շնորհակալություն հայտնելով Հռոմի պապի բարձր բարոյական դիրքորոշման համար Իրանի դեմ վերջերս տեղի ունեցած ագրեսիայի վերաբերյալ, ընդգծել է միջազգային հանրության կողմից իրատեսական և արդար մոտեցման անհրաժեշտությունը։ Նա նաև կոչ է արել երկրներին մերժել Միացյալ Նահանգների անօրինական պահանջները և արկածախնդիր ու վտանգավոր քաղաքականությունը։
