Կուբան Վատիկանից միջնորդություն է խնդրեկ ԱՄՆ-ի հետ հարաբերությունների հարցով․ WP

Կուբայի պաշտոնյաները խնդրել են Վատիկանին միջնորդել ԱՄՆ-ի հետ հարաբերություններում ու համոզել Վաշինգտոնին մեղմել իր էներգետիկ շրջափակումը, հաղորդել է «Washington Post»-ը՝ հղում անելով աղբյուրների։

Ըստ թերթի՝ Կուբայի պաշտոնյաներ դիմելու նպատակն է նպաստել բանակցություններին ու մեղմացնել Սպիտակ տան ճնշման արշավը, որն ուղղված է Կուբային մեկուսացնելուն՝ փաստացի նավթային շրջափակման միջոցով։

Հրապարակումը նշել է, որ հանդիպումներին մասնակցել է նաև Հռոմի պապ Լևոն XIV-ը։

Հունվարի 29-ին ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը ստորագրել է գործադիր հրամանագիր, որը թույլատրում է Կուբա նավթ մատակարարող երկրներից ներմուծվող ապրանքների վրա մաքսատուրքեր սահմանել և հայտարարել արտակարգ դրություն՝ ԱՄՆ ազգային անվտանգությանը կուբայական ենթադրյալ սպառնալիքի պատճառով։ Կուբայի կառավարությունը հայտարարել է, որ Միացյալ Նահանգները ձգտում է խեղդել Կուբայի տնտեսությունը և կենսապայմանները անտանելի դարձնել նրա բնակչության համար՝ էներգետիկ շրջափակման միջոցով։
