Ամերիկացի գիտնականները պնդում են, որ իրականում մեր արտաքին տեսքը  և կյանքի տևողությունը կախված են հենց մեզանից: Ընդ որում` այդ ցուցանիշը կարելի է  բարելավել անվտանգ և բնական միջոցով:
 
Դա է ապացուցել   45-65  տարեկան  15 հազար մարդկանց մասնակցությամբ հետազոտությունը: Դրա հիման վրա հայտնվել են երկարակեցության 3 ոսկե կանոնները: 
 
Առաջին. Եթե դուք ուզում եք  առողջ ապրելակերպ վարել, ապա առաջին հերթին պետք է հրաժարվեք ալկոհոլից և ծխախոտից:
 
Երկրորդ. Պետք է սկսեք ճիշտ սնվել, ընդ որում ամեն օր օգտագործելով մաքսիմալ քանակությամբ մրգեր և բանջարեղեն: 
 
Երրորդ. Իհարկե պետք է զբաղվեք սպորտով. Ֆիզիկական վարժանքներին պետք է հատկացնել օրական գոնե 30 րոպե:
Գիտնականները ուշադրություն են դարձնում նաև սթրեսներին և դեպրեսիային, որոնք կարող են դառնալ բազմաթիվ խրոնիկ հիվանդությունների պատճառ: Դրա դեմ պետք է պայքարել սպորտի, մեդիտացիայի և սեքսի միջոցով:
