Более 15 тыс. человек были эвакуированы в пункты временного размещения из-за сильных наводнений в Малайзии. Об этом сообщило информагентство Bernama.

По его информации, количество эвакуированных жителей королевства составляет 15 358. Стихийное бедствие затронуло малайзийские штаты Паханг (13 472 переселенных жителей), Тренгану (1 344), Джохор (356) и Келантан (186).

В 2024 году размер ущерба от охвативших Малайзию наводнений составил 933,4 млн ринггитов ($228,6 млн), что сопоставимо с 0,05% ВВП страны.
