Նա այսպես է մեկնաբանել ուկրաինական ճգնաժամի շուրջ բանակցությունների առաջընթացը։ Նա նշել է, որ իդեալական կլիներ, եթե Ուկրաինան ոչինչ չկորցներ, սակայն, եթե Կիևը ստիպված լինի ինչ-որ բան զիջել, դա պետք է հնարավորինս փոքր լինի։
