Թուքիայում զգում են Օսմանյան կայսրության վերջին շրջանում տեղի ունեցած պատերազմի տարիներին «զինված խմբավորումների կողմից իրականացված դիվերսիոն գործողությունների, համաճարակային հիվանդությունների պատճառով կորսված կյանքերի ցավը», այս մասին հայտարարել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Էրդողանը՝ Պոլսո Հայոց պատրիարքին և հայ համայնքին հղած իր ուղերձում, փոխանցում է Թուրքիայում լույս տեսնող «Ժամանակ» թերթը։

Իր ուղերձում Էրդողանը պնդում է՝ «անցյալի տխուր հիշողությունները չպետք է պատանդ պահեն ներկան և ապագան»։

«Նրանք, ովքեր փորձեցին խարխլել մեր միջև խորը արմատներ ունեցող և ամուր կապերը՝ պատմությունից թշնամանք ստեղծելով, մինչ օրս չեն հասել իրենց նպատակներին», - առանց փակագծեր բացելու հայտարարում է Հայոց ցեղասպանության փաստը ժխտող Թուրքիայի առաջնորդը։
