Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վոլոդիմիր Զելենսկին հեռախոսազրույց է ունեցել ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ։ Այդ մասին Զելենսկին հայտնել է X-ի իր միկրոբլոգում․

«Ես խոսեցի հետ Դոնալդ Թրամփի հետ, շնորհավորեցի նրան հանրապետականների առաջադրման կապակցությամբ և դատապարտեցի Փենսիլվանիայում տեղի ունեցած ցնցող մահափորձը։ Նրան ուժ և բացարձակ անվտանգություն մաղթեցի ապագայում։

Ես շեշտեցի ամերիկյան աջակցությունը մեր ազգի ազատության և անկախության պաշտպանության գործում: Ուկրաինան միշտ երախտապարտ կլինի ԱՄՆ-ին՝ ռուսական ահաբեկչությանը դիմակայելու մեր կարողությունն ամրապնդելու՝  նրա օգնության համար։ Ռուսական հարձակումները մեր քաղաքների և գյուղերի վրա շարունակվում են ամեն օր։ Մենք պայմանավորվեցինք նախագահ Թրամփի հետ անձնական հանդիպման ժամանակ քննարկել, թե ինչ քայլեր կարող են խաղաղությունը դարձնել արդար և իսկապես տեւական»,- գրել է նա։
