Ռուսաստանը երբեք չի միջամտել ԱՄՆ-ի ներքաղաքական գործընթացներին և մտադիր է հետագայում ևս հավատարիմ մնալ այդ դիրքորոշմանը՝ հայտարարել է ՌԴ նախագահի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ Մոսկվան, այնուամենայնիվ, ուշադրությամբ հետևում է ԱՄՆ-ում տեղի ունեցող իրադարձություններին, այդ թվում՝ ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմական ծախսերին, քանի որ «Պենտագոնի վրա ավելի շատ գումար է ծախսվում, քան մյուս երկրների պաշտպանության նախարարությունների վրա՝ միասին վերցրած»:
