ՄԱԿ Մանկական ֆոնդի (ՅՈւՆԻՍԵՖ) գործադիր տնօրեն Քետրին Ռասելը հայտարարել է, որ պատերազմի վերսկսվելուց հետո Գազան նորից դարձել է «ամենավտանգավոր տեղը երեխաների համար»։

Ռասելի խոսքով՝ հարյուրավոր երեխաներ կմահանան ամեն օր, եթե բռնությունը վերադառնա այն մասշտաբներին եւ ինտենսիվությանը, որոնք նկատվում էին մինչ յոթնօրյա դադարը, որն ավարտվեց ուրբաթ։

«Այդպես չպետք է լինի, յոթ օրվա ընթացքում հույսի շող էր նշմարվել։ Ավելի քան 30 երեխաներ, որոնք պատանդ էին Գազայում, բարեհաջող ազատվել են եւ վերամիավորվել իրենց ընտանիքների հետ։ Իսկ հումանիտար դադարը թույլ տվեց ավելացնել բեռների մատակարարումը Գազա եւ նրա սահմաններից դուրս։ Երեխաներին անհրաժեշտ է  հումանիտար հրադադար։ Մենք կոչ ենք անում բոլոր կողմերին ապահովել երեխաների պաշտպանությունը եւ օգնությունը՝ միջազգային հումանիտար իրավունքին համապատասխան։ Բոլոր երեխաները Պաղեստին պետությունում եւ Իսրայելում արժանի են խաղաղության եւ ավելի լավ ապագայի հույսի»,- նշել է Ռասելը Х-ի իր միկրոբլոգում։
