102 կգ քաշային կարգում հանդես եկող հայ ծանրորդ Գարիկ Կարապետյանը Բուխարեստում ավարտված Եվրոպայի՝ մինչև 23 տարեկանների առաջնությունում ոսկե մեդալ է նվաճել՝ սահմանելով համաշխարհային ռեկորդ։

Հրում և պոկում վարժությունում Կարապետյանը նվաճել է նաև երկու փոքր ոսկե մեդալ։ Առաջին վարժությունում մարզիկը բարձրացրել է 181 կգ, երկրորդում՝ 205 կգ։ Բիաթլոնում ծանրորդը 386 կգ արդյունքով գրավել է առաջին տեղը։

Այս քաշային կարգում 2-րդ տեղը երկամարտի 359 կգ արդյունքով զբաղեցրել է վրացի Գուրամի Վեկուան, երրորդը՝ թուրք Էմին Բուրուն (349 կգ): Եվրոպայի առաջնությունը մեկնարկել է հուլիսի 23-ին եւ կավարտվի օգոստոսի 3-ին։
