Կանադացի գիտնականները ստեղծել են փաթեթ, որի վրայի արկղիկը «տեղեկացնում» է  հում մսի եւ այլ մթերքների մեջ սալմոնելայի, աղիքային ցուպիկի, լիստերիայի եւ այլ վտանգավոր մանրէների առկայության մասին, գրել է Phys.org-ը։

Արկղիկը կոր եզրեր ունի։ Դրա շնորհիվ ուտելիքի հյութը հոսում է դեպի սենսորը, որը գտնվում է փաթեթի ստորին մասում։ Դրա ցուցանիշները կարելի է հաշվել հատուկ բջջային հավելվածի օգնությամբ։ Այդ կերպ գնորդները հավաստիանում են մթերքի անվտանգության մասին։

Այս տեխնոլոգիան կփոխարինի ուտելիքի թանկ եւ երկարատեւ ստուգումներին լաբորատորիաներում, ինչպես նաեւ կնվազեցնի թունավորումների դեպքերը։ Ամեն տարի փչացած ուտելիքից առաջացող վարակները խոցում են 600 մլն մարդու։

Նման տեխնոլոգիա արդեն օգտագործվում է Ճապոնիայում եւ այլ երկրներում։ Կանադական հայտնագործությունը կարող է էժանացնել այն եւ դարձնել զանգվածային։
