Մեծ Բրիտանիայի պաշտպանության նախարար Բեն Ուոլեսը հայտարարել է, որ հույս չունի դառնալ ՆԱՏՕ գլխավոր քարտուղար։ Այս մասին նա ասել է The Economist-ի հարցազրույցում։

Մայիսին Ուոլեսը DPA-ի հարցազրույցում ասել էր. «Ես միշտ ասել եմ, որ դա լավ աշխատանք է։ Դա այն աշխատանքն է, որը ես կցանկանայի»։

Ինչպես տեղեկացրել է BILD-ը, Ուոլեսն այժմ հազիվ թե կարողանա զբաղեցնել այդ պաշտոնը, համենայն դեպս՝ ինքն այդպես է կարծում։

Նա նշել է, որ ԱՄՆ-ն մտադիր է դաշինքի գործող գլխավոր քարտուղար Յենս Սթոլտենբերգին համոզել եւս մեկ տարի պաշտոնին մնալ։ Սթոլտենբերգը պետք է պաշտոնը թողնի սեպտեմբերի վերջին։

Ինչպես տեղեկացրել է BBC-ն, այս շաբաթ ԱՄՆ պետքարտուղար Էնթոնի Բլինքենն ընդգծել է, որ ներկայում Վաշինգտոնը ոչ մի կոնկրետ թեկնածուի չի աջակցում։
