F-16 կործանիչ-ռմբակոծիչները, որոնք Արևմուտքի կողմից առաքվելու են Կիևին, նախատեսվում է տեղակայել Ուկրաինայում։  

Ինչպես հաղորդում է «ՏԱՍՍ»-ը, այս մասին մայիսի 22-ին Վաշինգտոնի ռազմական դիտորդների խմբի հետ հանդիպմանը հայտարարել է ԱՄՆ ռազմաօդային ուժերի քարտուղար Ֆրենկ Քենդալը։

«Մենք խոսում ենք ուկրաինական միջոցների, ոչ թե ՆԱՏՕ-ի միջոցների մասին: Եթե դրանք դառնան ուկրաինական օդուժի մաս, ենթադրում եմ՝ կտեղակայվեն Ուկրաինայում», - նշել է նա:

Քենդալը նաև վստահեցրել է, որ կոլեկտիվ Արևմուտքը դեռ չի որոշել, թե կոնկրետ որտեղ է անցկացվելու ուկրաինացի օդաչուների ուսուցումը F-16 ինքնաթիռների օգտագործման համար։
