Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Էրդողանը Ստամբուլի շրջանում Սիլիվրի ստորգետնյա գազապահեստարանի նոր հզորությունների գործարկման արարողության ժամանակ հայտարարել է, որ իր երկիրը ծրագրում է սեղմ ժամկետներում դառնալ գազի գնագոյացման գլոբալ կենտրոն:

«Մենք բանակցություններ ենք վարել Պուտինի հետ թուրքական տարածքում գազային հանգույց ստեղծելու հարցով։ Թրակիան կդառնա  էներգետիկ կենտրոն։ Մեր նպատակն է սեղմ ժամկետում Թուրքիան դարձնել գազի գնագոյացման գլոբալ կենտրոն»,-ասել է նա։   

Հոկտեմբերին Պուտինը Էրդողանին առաջարկել է գազային հանգույց ստեղծել՝ Եվրոպա գազի մատակարարումների համար։
