Ծնվել է 44-օրյա պատերազմում զոհված ժամկետային զինծառայող Վահե Կարապետյանի եղբայրը: Ծնողները նրան անվանակոչել են Վահե:

«Զինուժի» հետ զրույցում մայրը՝ Կարինե Բեգլարյանը, պատմում է, որ փոքիկ Վահեն 20 օր առաջ է ծնվել եւ արդեն հասցրել է փոխել տան մթնոլորտը:

«Տանն աշխուժություն կա, աչքդ բացում ես ու կողքիդ է Վահեն: Աստծո տված բալիկ է: Շատերն էին ասում՝ երեխա ունեցիր, ես վախենում էի՝ հաշվի առնելով տարիքս, բայց ամեն ինչ լավ անցավ, առողջ բալիկ ունեցանք: Վահեն իմ շունչն է, ուրախանում եմ, որ մայրերն իրենց մեջ ուժ են գտնում բալիկ ունենալու: Աստծո կամոք, մեկն էլ կունենամ»,- ասում է տիկին Կարինեն:

Կարապետյանների ավագ որդին՝ Վահեն, ծառայել է Հադրութում, զոհվել Հադրութի ուղղությամբ մղվող մարտերում:
