Չորեքշաբթի վաղ առավոտյան Իրանի հյուսիս-արևմտյան Արևմտյան Ադրբեջան նահանգում տեղի ունեցած 5,4 մագնիտուդ ուժգնությամբ երկրաշարժի հետևանքով տուժածների թիվը գերազանցել է 1100-ը, հայտնել է առողջապահության ոլորտի պաշտոնյան:

Իրանի պետական հեռուստատեսության հետ զրույցում առողջապահության նախարարության խոսնակ Մոջթաբա Խալեդին ասել է, որ երկրաշարժի հետևանքով տուժել է 1127 մարդ, գրում է albawaba.com-ը։

Հզոր երկրաշարժը տեղի է ունեցել Խոյ քաղաքում, որը գտնվում է մայրաքաղաք Թեհրանից 807 կիլոմետր հյուսիս-արևմուտք:

Թեհրանի համալսարանի սեյսմոլոգիական կենտրոնի տվյալներով՝ երկրաշարժին հաջորդել է ավելի քան 30 հետցնցում՝ 4 բալից պակաս ուժգնությամբ: Վիրավորներից շատերը տեղափոխվել են նահանգի հիվանդանոցներ, ասել է Խալեդին:

Իրանը գտնվում է սեյսմիկ ակտիվ գոտում և վերջին տարիներին բազմաթիվ աղետալի երկրաշարժեր է տեսել։
