Ռուսաստանցի Էլինա Ավանեսյանը դուրս եկավ Իտալիայի Պալերմո քաղաքում անցկացվող WTA 250 շարքի մրցաշարի երկրորդ շրջան։ 19-ամյա հայ թենիսիստուհին մրցեց բրազիլացի Կարոլինա Ալվեսի հետ եւ առավելության հասավ 6:2, 5:7, 6:1 հաշվով։ Պայքարը տեւեց 2 ժամ եւ 5 րոպե։

Էլինա Ավանեսյանի մրցակիցն առաջին շրջանում պետք է լիներ 28-ամյա իտալացի Մարտինա Տրեւիզանը, որն այս մրցաշարում ստացել էր առաջին համարը։ Սակայն նա հրաժարվել է մասնակցությունից։

Էլինա Ավանեսյանի հաջորդ մրցակիցը կլինի իտալացի Լյուչյա Բրոնցետին։
