Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը երկուշաբթի՝ մայիսի 2-ին, հայտարարել է, որ Ուկրաինայի արևելյան հատվածի վերաբերյալ որոշումը ՌԴ նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինն ու Ուկրաինայի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Զելենսկին կարող են կայացնել Թուրքիայում հնարավոր հանդիպման ժամանակ։

«Հավանաբար այս շաբաթ ես հեռախոսազրույց կունենամ Պուտինի հետ։ Մեր ցանկությունը Ռուսաստանի և Ուկրաինայի նախագահների հանդիպումը Ստամբուլում կամ Անկարայում կազմակերպելն է։ Ուկրաինայի արևելյան հատվածի վերաբերյալ որոշման կայացման վայրը կլինի Թուրքիան։ Դա տեղի կունենա Ստամբուլում կամ Անկարայում», - մեջբերել է Էրդողանի խոսքը CNN Türk հեռուստաալիքը։

Ավելի վաղ ՌԴ նախագայի մամուլի քարտուղար Դմիտրի Պեսկովը չի բացառել Պուտինի ու Զելենսկիի հանդիպման հնարավորությունը, սակայն ընդգծել է, որ որևէ արդյունքի հասնելու համար այն պետք է պատշաճ կերպով կազմակերպված լինի։
