Ղազախստանի նախագահ Քասիմ Ժոմարտ Տոկաեւը հունվարի 5-ին ընդունեց կառավարության հրաժարականը, որը կշարունակի կատարել պարտականությունները մինչեւ նախարարների կաբինետի նոր կազմի նշանակումը:

Այդ մասին ասված է պետության ղեկավարի հրամանագրում, որը հրապարակել է նրա մամուլի ծառայությունը: «Ղազախստանի Հանրապետության Սահմանադրության 70-րդ հոդվածին համապատասխան որոշում եմ. ընդունել Ղազախստանի Հանրապետության կառավարության հրաժարականը:

Ղազախստանի Հանրապետության վարչապետի պարտականությունների կատարումը ժամանակավորապես հանձնարարել Ալիխան Ասխանի Սմայիլովին»,- ասված է փաստաթղթում: Այնտեղ նաեւ նշված է, որ կառավարության անդամները կշարունակեն կատարել իրեց պարտականությունները մինչեւ նախարարների կաբինետի նոր կազմի հաստատումը, հաղորդել է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
